The fusing time is an important parameter of the fuse, which directly reflects the strength of the protection function of the fuse, but it must correspond to the load current. The functional relationship between any load current and the fusing time forms one of the most important performance indicators of the fuse: fusing characteristic or ampere-second characteristic (I-t characteristic).
Use the I-t curve to select the rated current specification of the fuse: according to the protection requirements of the appliance or circuit, especially the requirement that the fuse must respond to the action within a certain period of time when an overcurrent occurs, select the fuse specification represented by the closest curve. It should be noted that the curve represents the average value, as long as the nearest one is selected, there is no need to pursue accuracy;

Use the I-t table to verify whether the selected fuse is suitable: according to the circuit protection requirements and the data in the I-t table, the fuse of the selected specification is actually tested for fusing characteristics. As long as it meets the protection requirements and is not far from the I-t curve, it means that the selection is correct; It is also necessary to compare the data in the I-t table. It can't be too close to the upper and lower limits, and the consistency is good; The I-t table is also more important for inspection and acceptance as a criterion of conformity.
