What are the common faults of fuses? How to troubleshoot?
Latest company news about What are the common faults of fuses? How to troubleshoot?

The following is a brief analysis of common faults and troubleshooting methods for fuses:
A、 Melt fusing

1. Normal fusing due to short circuit fault or overload operation.

Troubleshooting: Before installing a new fuse, first find out the cause of the melt fusing. If the cause of fusing is not determined, do not replace the fuse for trial delivery.

2. If the fuse link is used for too long, the melt may be accidentally disconnected due to oxidation or high temperature during operation, resulting in changes in melt characteristics.

Troubleshooting: When replacing a new melt, check whether the rated value of the fuse link matches the protected device.

3. There is mechanical damage to the fuse link during installation, which reduces its cross-sectional area and causes accidental disconnection during operation.

Troubleshooting: When replacing a new fuse, check whether the fuse has mechanical damage and whether the fuse tube has cracks.

B、 The fuse and power distribution device are burned out at the same time, or the connecting wire and terminal are burned out

1. Harmonic generation, when harmonic current enters the power distribution device, the current in the circuit rapidly increases and burns out.

Troubleshooting: Eliminate harmonic current generation.

2. The cross-sectional area of the wire is relatively small, and the temperature rise is high and it is burnt out.

Troubleshooting: Increase the cross-sectional area of the wire.

3. The connection bolt between the terminal and the wire is not tightened, resulting in an arc short circuit.

Troubleshooting: The connecting bolts must be tightened.

C、 The temperature rise of the fuse contact is too high

1. The contact surface of the fuse is oxidized or the dust is thick, and the temperature rises due to poor contact.

Troubleshooting: Wipe the oxide with emery cloth, clean the dust, check whether the contact is in good condition, or replace the complete set of fuses.

2. The fuse carrier is not screwed into place and has poor contact, resulting in a temperature rise.

Troubleshooting: The connecting bolts must be tightened.
