The type of fuse is mainly selected according to the load situation and the magnitude of circuit breaking current. For example, for the protection of lighting circuits or regulators with small capacity, it is advisable to use plug-in fuses or series of unfilled sealed tubular fuses; For circuits with large short circuit currents or occasions with flammable gases, it is advisable to use screw type fuses with high breaking capacity or filled closed tubular fuses; For the protection of silicon rectifier devices and thyristor applications, fast fuses should be used.
Selection of rated current of lighting circuit fuses: The fuse fuses in lighting circuits generally use lead antimony or lead tin alloy. For lighting distribution branches, the rated current of the fuse should be greater than or equal to the actual maximum load current of the branch, but should be less than the safety current of the thinnest conductor in the branch.
The rated current of the total fuse of the lighting circuit shall be selected according to the following formula:Total fuse rated current (A)=(0.9-1) × Rated current of electricity meter (A),The main fuse is generally installed on the outlet line of the watt-hour meter. The rated current of the fuse should not be greater than the rated current of the single-phase watt-hour meter, but must be greater than the sum of the working currents of all electrical appliances in the circuit when using electricity.
