In general, the fuse and its test data are manufactured according to the normal use environment. The general use environment is not more than 2000 meters. When the air temperature range is - 40 ℃ to 40 ℃, the protection capacity of the fuse is almost the same as the experimental data.
Conventional fuses are subject to the influence of the working environment. They can work normally in areas below 2000 meters above sea level to protect electric equipment. However, when working at high altitude, such as plateau climate, their working performance is greatly affected due to the voltage resistance, and the effect of protecting transformers or distribution lines is greatly reduced, and the normal working order is disturbed.
The altitude of the plateau area is generally more than 2000 meters. Due to the thin air in the plateau area and the reduction of atmospheric density and pressure, the heat dissipation efficiency of the fuse equipment will be reduced, and the melting point will be inconsistent, leading to unstable fusing capacity. The fuse parameters and experimental data we have seen in the past were all tested under the environment of plain areas. Due to the difference between the plateau climate and the environment of plain areas, the selection of fuses in plateau areas is different from that of conventional fuses. Whether the fuse can be used normally has certain requirements for the working environment. If the protective equipment selected in the plateau area is not appropriate, it will not only shorten the service life of the protective equipment, but also easily cause power accidents in the use process, which poses a threat to the safety of workers, and also affects people's normal life electricity and business activities between enterprises.
In order to avoid the problem that protective products such as fuses cannot be used normally in plateau areas, fuse products with plateau type, strong impact current resistance and low temperature resistance should be matched when selecting fuses.
