The energy storage battery system (BESS) is composed of a battery cell, a battery module, a battery pack, a battery cluster (Rack, also known as a battery cabinet), and several other cells in series (S) and in parallel (P) to form a battery "container" with a capacity of 500kW, 1MW, 2MW, 2.5MW or 3MW.
The energy storage fuse is mainly used in three places: 1) battery module 2) battery cluster/battery pack 3) AC/DC conversion inverter. In terms of quantity, energy storage fuses are used more than photovoltaic, wind power and electric vehicles. Each 1GW energy storage system uses about 6000-10000 main fuses and about 30000-50000 internal fuses. Wind power and photovoltaic are mainly used for confluence, inverter and control systems, while each battery module and battery cluster of the energy storage battery need fuse protection, so they are used in more quantities.
From the voltage level, the wind storage and optical storage voltage platforms are higher than electric vehicles. 1000V and 1500V platforms are required for energy storage, while most electric vehicle voltage platforms are 500V and 800V. 1000V is upgraded to 1500V, the capacity is increased, and the breaking capacity is required to be improved. The energy storage system has high power, high voltage, low internal resistance of power supply and high amplitude of short circuit current, which puts forward higher requirements for the breaking capacity of fuse.
